RAD Computer Repair Training – Course 4 of 4 – Level 2 Technician Skills
RAD Computer Technician Training is designed to bring a complete beginner into the preparedness of being a knowledgeable computer technician, with practical knowledge easily applied to any computer repair company and entry-level IT position. Learn from the Computer Repair EXPERTS at RAD Computers!
NOTE: Computer pictured does not represent the Home Lab computer that will be provided to the student.
This course takes the fundamentals of the previous courses and dials them up to 100 in a fun and engaging way, by having the student convert their home lab PC into a virtualization server, where they host their own game server for their friends to play on. They can pick from hundreds of dedicated-server games, but we have provided the TOP 20 in our course material from which to choose.
This is the course that really pushes the beginner technicians to become GREAT technicians. The amount of knowledge and creative freedom they will gain from combining courses 3 and 4 is simply incredible!
In this course, the student will also receive a WiFi Router with 4 switch ports to finalize their Home Lab.
Completion of this course and all preceding courses should result in enough working knowledge to apply at entry-level IT positions and pass interviews and some written tests.

Course 4: Level 2 Computer Technician Skills
Let’s build a game server!
The purpose of this course is to build onto the Level 1 Computer Troubleshooting skills learned in Course 3 with practical scripting, registry / *.ini file configurations, networking/firewall, firmware flashing, and virtualization skills that separate Level 1 Technicians from Level 2 Technicians in the world of Computer Repair.
This course takes the fundamentals of the previous courses and dials them up to 100 in a fun and engaging way, by having the student convert their home lab PC into a virtualization server, where they host their own game server for their friends to play on. They can pick from hundreds of dedicated-server games, but we have provided the TOP 20 in our course material from which to choose.

We will be building this on the “home lab” computer purchased for Course 2/3. If a “home lab” computer is unavailable for any reason, we can provide one for an additional fee. You do NOT want these activities being performed on a computer that’s in use by other people, as it WILL result in data loss.
In this course, the student will also receive a WiFi Router with 4 switch ports to finalize their Home Lab.

- Required Materials: Toolkit, desktop computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, flash drive (all provided by RAD Computers, and will be property of the student)
- Troubleshooting the Top 25 Computer Issues
- An introduction to Hardware and Software Tools of the Trade
- Translating desktop repair to laptop repair
- NOTE: All laptops repaired by the students during this course will be donated to a local charity: Laptops 4 Learning
Estimated time for course completion: 40 hours
Student is required to visit our Mesa Computer Repair Facility for hands-on training.
